They include a 48-unit counter top model, a 24-unit version that may be wall-mounted or placed on a counter, a 12-unit counter top model and a 6-unit display case model. Each of these eye catching displays accommodate the lighters in our SOLO® tube packaging system, which allows your customer to view the design details of the lighters from all angles. THE HISTORY BEHIND A FLAMING SUCCESS!

The Lighter Company, Inc. ("TLC, Inc."), a Florida based corporation, was founded in May of 1995. The company is guided under the direction of President, Jim Sadler and Vice President, Alfie Hamilton, who both bring diverse professional backgrounds and fresh ideas to the lighter industry. SOLO® prides itself on providing excellent customer service and a LIFETIME WARRANTY on it's products. The company's corporate offices and distribution site are located in Miami, Florida, near the heart of the U.S. Cigar distribution capital.

SOLO® is affiliated with only the best Asian lighter manufactures. Since its inception, TLC has experienced tremendous growth. The company started by offering two models of lighters in a South Florida test market. During the test market phase, the company sold those products to some of the larger smoking accessory distributors in the U.S.

In January 1996, TLC decided to directly distribute its products nationally to the gift, tobacco, mail order catalog, and the ad specialty markets. TLC aggressively pursued these markets by attending numerous gift, promotional and trade exhibitions across the United States and Caribbean. Since that time the company's retail base has grown to over 2500 outlets.

In late 1998, sensing the diminishing popularity of cigars, the TLC team turned its focus to capitalizing on new markets. SOLO® developed new products and pursued penetration in the Housewares, Marine and Outdoor Retail marketplaces. This effort has diversified SOLO® customer base and added some impressive names to TLC's lists of customers, which includes Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel II, Stroud's, Boat America, Boater's World, West Marine, Gander Mountain, Sports Chalet, and Gaylan's.

In January 1999, TLC introduced it's SOLO® brand name and exclusive SOLO® point of purchase displays and tube packaging. In addition to its retail base, the company's mail order and ad specialty customers continue to grow. During the recent boom in the popularity of cigars and cigar related items, the company acquired several mail order catalog companies as customers from both the U.S. and abroad. SOLO® products have been featured in the following catalogs: The Edge Catalog, The Good Catalog, Absolute Amenities, Cabela's, The Sportsman's Guide, Boat U.S., West Marine, Boater's World, The Gourmet Catalog and American Voyager's.

Due the attractive price of the company's products, TLC believes that the promotional and ad specialty markets may soon account for a large portion of its overall sales. Since custom engraving and imprinting is available on a majority of the company's products many corporations are choosing SOLO® products for promotions, premiums and executive gifts. Clients who have customized our products include: Caesars World Merchandise, Pepsi, Hamilton's Worldwide, Robert Mondavi's "Vichon Collection", Jim Beam Brands, Bacardi Brands, Northrop Grumman, and various Las Vegas and Atlantic City casino properties. The company has also customized products for numerous cigar friendly restaurants, clubs and stores along with several marine and outdoor retailers.

In addition to the company's growing customer base, TLC has increased its product mix to include eight lighter models several of which were specifically developed for the Housewares and Outdoor Retail markets. SOLO® also offers various gift set options, which incorporate several of its products into an attractive package. TLC plans to continue expanding its product lines and is currently developing innovative new lighters for various markets.

2002 promises to be an exciting year for TLC, as we continue to increase our presence at both national and international trade expositions and our advertising in national Cigar, Housewares, Outdoor and Men's related publications.
